MY STORY

 I am constantly inspired by the beauty of nature and the extraordinary and often times, fleeting moments when animals and wildlife interact with one another or the sun lights up the trees in a way that can’t be predicted, or imagined. I strive for what I call “close encounters” with the beauty of the world that surrounds us and photography is an important first step in my process. I find beauty in many different things and do not restrict myself to any particular subject matter, relying on my emotional response to what I see.

I work in Acrylics and describe the work as Contemporary Realism. Within that genre , a body of  work called Imaginative Realism is emerging that is still very recognizable as my work but is storytelling beyond the boundaries of reality.  I am a daily painter and enjoy painting miniatures to large scale pieces,  painting both the traditional and imaginative subjects and often switch from one to the other as a way of staying balanced and challenged.

  I am a member of the Corrales Society of Artists, the Rio Grande Art Association and NM Art League. I do shows primarily across New Mexico, and my work is on display in my Studio/Gallery,  located in my home.  I do two Open Studio Events each year and throughout the year, my studio is open by appointment.
